What a week we have ahead at your friendly neighborhood Rock-n-Roll Wedding Chapel!
We have new hours! Now open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 11am-8pm or later. Now you never have to worry about missing our faces or all the cold beer and hot deals on vintage that we serve up!
This installment of Free Wednesday we are very excited to show the 1997 rock-n-schlock film “The Sore Losers”. (Cult film about rock n roll aliens who come to earth to kill hippies!) This film was written and directed by the one and only John Michael McCarthy, and features Japanese garage rock legends Guitar Wolf! [Also playing a SOLD OUT show here Thursday] The film also stars Jack Oblivian (The Oblivians/The Sheiks Also playing here June 7th!), Mike Maker (The Makers), and Fleetwood’s own Mary Kelley as “The Malt Liquor Angel of Bloodwood” (sounds about right). We will show the film at 8pm.
Thursday All the way from Japan- Guitar Wolf is coming to play a sold-out show with Greg Cartwright and The Tip Tops, Zin Vetro and The Paint Fumes! There will be no tickets available at the door, sorry but catch Guitar Wolf in Charlotte the next night]
This Saturday is our first ever Lo-fi Farmer’s Market (happening rain or shine). Come shop for fresh fruit and vegetables, plant starts and much more from 12-5 pm. [Contact email@example.com for vending information]
Every last Wednesday of the month we have Marc McCloud (our local auteur of movie culture and knowledge )grace our Rock-n-Roll chapel with a curated film of his choice. It happens to be this week and he’s paying tribute to film maker Larry Cohen and will have cool trailers and trivia to open the movie (7pm trailers/8pm movie start). Concessions and drink specials will be available.
Thursday we have two cool events back to back. Trevor Wade is coming with “Clown Fish” tales of sex, gender and other black and white topics at 7pm and after that an evening of Latin sounds, salsa, live music and more at our monthly event Culture Shock (last Thursday of month).
